Frequently asked questions
The most common things people wonder about Curbie. Can't find your answer? Get in touch.
Does Curbie cost anything?
Curbie is free to download and use — mark where you parked, see the rules for that spot, and get a reminder before you need to move.
How does the app know which rules apply?
Curbie uses the City of Stockholm's parking data to work out street cleaning, time limits and paid hours for the street you're on. When you park, the app calculates when you need to move your car.
City rules can change, so always treat Curbie as a tool — the physical signs at the location always take precedence.
Can I really never get a ticket if I use Curbie?
Curbie is designed to significantly reduce the risk through clear status and timely reminders. But you are always responsible for where and how you park — check the signs on site before leaving your car.
How do reminders work?
When you park, Curbie works out when you need to move and reminds you six, three and one hour before. Everyone who shares the car gets the same reminders.
For notifications to reach you, you need to allow notifications for Curbie in Settings.
Can I have multiple vehicles in the app?
Yes. Add a car or a motorcycle — the vehicle type decides which rules apply. With more than one car, Curbie opens on a list of them all, sorted by which must move next.
What happens to my data?
You can use Curbie without an account. If you sign in with Apple, your vehicles and parking history are saved to your account, so they're still there when you change phones. We never sell your data and show no ads. Read more in our privacy policy.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can start right away without one. To back up your cars, sign in with Apple — no password to remember.
Does Curbie work outside Stockholm?
For now, Curbie's rules cover Stockholm only. Elsewhere you can still save where you parked, but without rules, a countdown or a reminder.
Can we share a car in the family?
Yes. Invite someone with a link from the car's page — it's valid for 24 hours. Everyone who shares the car sees where it is, can park and move it, and gets the same reminders. You also get a notification when someone else parks it.
I'm not getting notifications — what do I do?
Go to Settings → Curbie → Notifications and make sure notifications are enabled. Also check that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't blocking the app. Still not working? Contact support and we'll help you.
